As the regulatory environment continues to change, the committee will focus on advocacy, monitoring regulatory changes and educating CBA members on how new rules will impact auto financing. The year long work of the committee is reflected in the programming of the automobile finance track at CBA LIVE, the newest conference for professionals in the retail banking industry. Specific automobile finance sessions address the fast-paced changes in both the manufacturer and dealer industries and other relevant issues.

The group keeps abreast of industry developments and trends as they relate to automobile financing such as market dynamics, consumer contracts, lender-dealer relationships, sales/dealer operations and risk management practices. Current issues include the impact of the CFPB, availability of consumer credit, fair lending, impact of dealer consolidation and industry best practices.
