Overview
CBA’s Home Equity Lending Committee promotes the exchange of information and ideas relating to mortgage-secured credit. When regulations or legislation affect home equity lending, whether through proposed RESPA-TILA changes, or Home Owners Equity Protection Act, CBA’s Home Equity Committee shapes CBA’s input in the government relations process. CBA’s annual Home Equity Lending Conference is where banking leaders in home equity lending get together to share ideas and study the future of equity finance. Speakers and participants examine issues including e-commerce and technology, subprime lending, and marketing and demographic changes.
The 2010 Home Equity Conference will be held in conjunction with CBA's Retail Banking Conference Jun 5-8, 2010 in Hollywood, FL. The Home Equity Lending Committee also conducts a bi-annual survey to measure home equity lending activity and identify business trends. The CBA Home Equity Loan Study, conducted for CBA by Freed Vance Research Group, tracks trend dynamics for both open and closed-end home equity lending at banks and thrifts.
