CBA Grad School Faculty Member Joins the Fed

August 26 was a proud day for the faculty members and staff of the CBA/BAI Graduate School of Retail Bank Management. In Washington, DC, for their annual faculty meeting, the group attended the swearing-in ceremony for Elizabeth "Betsy" Duke, the newest addition to the Federal Reserve's chief policymaking group.

Duke was a GSRBM faculty member for 25 years. During her remarks she mentioned her experiences with the faculty, helping to form the school’s overall curriculum.

A lifelong commercial banker, Duke is also the only member of the Federal Reserve Board with commercial-banking experience. Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke acknowledged the importance of having a banker rounding out the Fed board, considering the challenges that banks are facing.

The next session of the school will take place July 19 - 29, 2009, on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, SC. For more information, go to www.gsrbm.com
