In-Bank Training

CBA is pleased to make two components of its renowned educational curriculum available within your bank. Our in-bank faculty members have decades of experience in both retail banking and teaching. They will work in conjunction with our education department and your training executives to tailor these programs to the appropriate audience level.

Courses Offered:

  • Retail Banking Basics
This course provides new retail bank officers and non-bank professionals with a fundamental understanding of how a bank makes money within the parameters of regulatory controls, economic circumstances, competitive influences and risk limitations. Participants will have access to an on-line performance and forecast analysis tool, giving them an immediate visual of projected results.
  • Retail Bank Market$im
This condensed version of our 10-day session brings the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management (GSRBM)'s proprietary retail bank market simulation directly to your team! Market$im will give your bankers a deeper understanding of the risk/reward trade-offs to be made in developing a retail strategy, integrating customer segmentation, product offerings, pricing, delivery channels, marketing and branding. The curriculum can be tailored to various management levels and areas of expertise within the bank.

Benefits of in-bank training:

  • Lower costs - CBA comes to your location, saving you time and travel expenses
  • Lower profile - Skewed public perception regarding bank employee T&E makes in-bank training more efficient for larger groups
  • Broader audience - Although the Graduate School is an excellent option for officers at a key point in their careers, this allows more junior employees to benefit from valuable segments of the curriculum
  • Broader perspectives - Our faculty members have decades of industry and teaching experience, and they are passionate about sharing their knowledge

Highlights of the program include:

  • Delivery by a team of experts who translate materials into real-world situations
  • Focus on team work and team development
  • Immediate applications of what is learned through simulations and case studies
  • Hands-on, small group format for optimal adult learning
  • Ability to tailor the program to the experience level of the audience

Key takeaways for participants:

  • A better understanding of retail banking and the interplay between the different departments and disciplines
  • The ability to translate decisions into financial consequences and evaluate tradeoffs necessary in a competitive marketplace
  • A broader perspective beyond their day to day point of view
  • Leadership and communication skills honed through working in a time-pressurized competitive environment
